Get clear on your role and decide what you hand over.

CORE Navigator is a psychometric instrument for business owners and their coaches. It helps them get clear on the owner's role and prepare the next change in how they work together. You see which work suits you, what a complement should take on and what to try first. It has its own website.

CORE Navigator report: what the four-type overview shows
Illustrative example

Schematic of the report structure. No values shown; a real profile shows how strongly each type is present.

CORE Types, in their fixed order

  1. 1. Constructor

    Builds systems, structures, products

  2. 2. Operator

    Runs, optimises, scales

  3. 3. Rainmaker

    Acquires, sells, connects

  4. 4. Explorer

    Researches, innovates, experiments

The profile shows how strongly each type is present, read against the owner's real tasks. Nobody is one type only.

CORE Dynamics

The values that drive decisions, and how the pattern shifts under stress.

Role and next step

What I keep, what a complementary role takes on, what I change first.

Who it helps

Coaches, and the owners they work with.

Coaches
A concrete starting point for client conversations about the owner's role. The coach leads the conversation; the client decides and tries the change. Built for coaches who work with owners of small agencies, consultancies and similar companies.
Business owners
If you still run the business day to day and face a change in your role, such as handing over work, bringing in a partner or a managing director, or moving from doing the work to leading it, CORE Navigator gives you a clear picture to start from. You can use it directly.

Three questions

Your seat, the complement, the first change.

Three questions an owner and a coach work through together, in this order.

  1. 01

    Your seat

See where your strength lies and which work to keep. The CORE Types describe how you create value as an entrepreneur: Constructor, Operator, Rainmaker, Explorer.

  2. 02

    The complement

Get a sharper brief for the complement you need, whether a partner, a managing director, a shareholder or a team. The report outlines what that complement should bring. It describes the work, not a candidate.

  3. 03

    The first change

Pick one concrete change, try it in the following weeks and review it with your coach.

Report sections

What the report gives you.

Three parts, each with a different job in the conversation. The figures are schematics and show no values.

CORE Types

See which work fits the way you create value

The four CORE Types describe characteristic ways of creating value in a business: Constructor, Operator, Rainmaker, Explorer. Your profile shows how strongly each is present and which one leads. Nobody is one type only.

Read against your real task list, it helps you see which tasks fit, which you hold on to out of habit and which could move to a complementary role.

CORE Dynamics

Understand what drives your decisions, and what changes under stress

CORE Dynamics describes the values that drive your decisions and the way they shift when pressure rises. The report puts your pattern in plain language.

Use it to look at real situations: a decision that keeps being postponed, a reaction under pressure you would like to handle differently.

How it is read

Owner and coach, working from the same page

The coach prepares with the report and leads the conversation. The owner decides what to keep, what to hand over and what to try first.

The report describes the owner only. It does not compare you with other people, describe applicants or describe a team.

Who does what

Coach
Prepares with the report, leads the conversation.
Owner
Decides what to keep, hand over and try first.
Report
Informs the conversation. Does not decide, rank or predict.

Your personal CORE profile

What you receive.

You complete an online psychometric self-assessment in the CORE Navigator web app and receive your personal CORE profile, a web report you can read with your coach. It gives you:

  • your CORE Type profile and how strongly each type is lived
  • the seat that fits you best
  • energy leaks and your stress pattern, described by CORE Dynamics
  • levers for change
  • a profile of the complement a next hire should bring
  • an action plan

QuickCheck and CORE Navigator

Start where it suits you.

QuickCheck is the free entry point; its output is your QuickCheck result. The personal CORE Navigator offer combines your personal CORE profile with sprints and checklists. The CORE Navigator website shows what each includes, with a labelled example profile. The profile describes the person who completed it and informs the decision. It does not make it for you.

CORE Navigator has its own website in English and German, with the methodology, the report sections and a waiting list for the QuickCheck, the free entry point. Current availability and conditions are stated there.
